Peer feedback
Learners give one another criteria-based feedback on drafts and projects. Assessing other people’s work helps them understand quality criteria more deeply, and revision becomes the norm.
How the method works
- 1
Agree on the criteria together (3 to 4 max.) and set feedback rules (“strength first, then a wish”).
- 2
Exchange products; write feedback based on the criteria.
- 3
Feedback conversation: explain the feedback and allow questions.
- 4
Revision phase: authors decide with good reason what to incorporate.
Material
- Feedback criteria
- Sentence starters
- Learning outcomes
You can find free, ready-made worksheets for the work phase in the TeachPie Marketplace , sorted by subject and grade, in three levels.
Common pitfalls in practice
- Feedback needs specific criteria and time for revision
Variants
- Feedback swap: Each product gets feedback from two different people.
- Warm/cool feedback using the critique-round format, with a set language structure.
In TeachPie, the planning AI suggests Peer feedback automatically when it fits the phase, timing, and class, including ready-to-use materials.
