Quick-fire round

Take turns sharing one sentence per person: feelings, prior knowledge, or takeaways become clear in minutes. No comments, no discussion: this quick check-in captures a moment, not a debate.

How the method works

  1. 1

Ask a focus question (“One sentence: What will you take away from this lesson?”).

  2. 2

Take turns answering with exactly one sentence; you can pass.

  3. 3

No comments during the round, not even from the teacher.

  4. 4

Brief wrap-up: identify patterns and, if needed, revisit individual points later.

Material

  • Sentence starters

You can find free, ready-made worksheets for the work phase in the TeachPie Marketplace , sorted by subject and grade, in three levels.

Common pitfalls in practice

  • Keep contributions strictly brief and focused on the prompt

Variants

  • Written quick feedback on cards for greater anonymity.
  • Scale check-in: take a position on an imaginary line in the room and give one sentence explaining why.
